Welcome to new group member Mr. Rohit P. Upadhyay, as a PhD student, who joined Prof. Gawandes research group at ICT-MARJ Campus. He has completed his master degree from Mumbai University, Mumbai. He has research experience as a Research Trainee at Colgate-Palmolive, Oral Care Department, Powai, Mumbai and Research Chemist at Jyothy labs, Formulation development of Homecare department. Also, he worked as a Project Assistant at Chemical Engineering Department, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.

We are very glad to share with you that our research article entitled “Facile synthesis of nanostructured TiO2-SiO2 powder for selective photocatalytic oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds” has been published in Molecular Catalysis (IF-5.08). In this work remarkable characteristics of TiO2:SiO2 in various ratios synthesized via hydrothermal method was studied. The appropriate content of TiO2/SiO2 have effect on their photocatalytic activities for selective oxidation of alcohols to corresponding aldehydes.

Prof. Manoj B. Gawande Receives Project Grant by Krishi I-Dal Pvt. Ltd.

We are very glad to share with you that Prof. Gawande awarded project grant from Krishi I-Dal Pvt. Ltd. The project is entitled as “Scale Up the Synthesis of Metal Single Atom on Carbon Nitride Catalysts.” The project aim is to design and fabrication of advanced carbon nitride-based single atom catalysts for industrially important organic reactions. 

Prof. Gawande published a book entitled “Surface Modified Nanomaterials for Applications in Catalysis” in Elsevier publication…Congratulations!

We are pleased to share with you all our book entitled “ Surface Modified Nanomaterials for Applications in Catalysis” has been published by Elsevier. This book comprises new frontiers for heterogeneous catalysis: Surface modification of nanomaterials, mechanistic aspects, characterization, surface modification of nano-based catalytic materials for enhanced water treatment applications, surface modified nanomaterials based catalytic materials for water purification, hydrocarbon production and pollutant remediation, production of liquid fuels. SMN-based catalytic membranes for environmental catalysis, semiconductor catalysts based on SMNs for sensors, Surface modified carbonaceous NMs for CO2 hydrogenation and fixation, SMNs for synthesis of pharmaceutical, modern industry applications, and future of SMNs catalyst for industry applications.

Welcome to new group member Mr. Dinesh S. Chaudhari (SET and GATE) as a PhD student, who joined Prof. Gawandes research group at ICT-MARJ Campus. He has completed his master degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. He has research experience as a Research Associate-I at Aragen Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. (Formerly GVK Biosciences) Hyderabad. Also, he worked as Project Associate-I at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and as Junior Research Associate, at Aurigene Discovery Technology Limited, Bangalore.
